Employee's Thumb Is Amputated on Radial Arm Saw

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on September 3, 2002, Employee #1, of Window Master, was using a 40-year-old, 8 in. De Walt radial arm saw, Model MBC REL Number 21, Serial Number 107669, to cut aluminum mounting bars when the end of her right thumb, including some bone, was amputated. She was transported to Sharp's Hospital in La Mesa, California, where she was treated and released approximately four hours later.
