Employee Suffers Fatal Seizure

On February 15, 2002, Employee #1 was found unresponsive at his place of work. Employee #1 was a maintenance worker for a residential patient care facility. Employee #1 was clearing a clogged drain in a shower area. Employee #1 was found face down in the shower. The resident medical staff, as well as paramedics, tried to resuscitate Employee #1, but were unsuccessful. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced. The County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a seizure. Employee #1 had a history of seizure disorder. There is no evidence that the cause of death was work-related.
