Employee fractures hip in fall against forklift

Employee #1, a supervisor and safety director working for a pallet manufacturing company, was helping a coworker who was using a forklift to move a 1 1/2 ft wide by 3 ft tall motor. When the forklift picked up the motor, it was off-center, so Employee #1 pulled on the unit to stabilize it. He was stepping backward to move away from the falling motor when he slipped and bumped into the forklift. He suffered a fractured hip, for which he was hospitalized.
