Employee injured when caught in nip point between rollers

Employee #1 was cleaning a coating 101 machine when his hand became caught in the nip point and he was pulled in between the two large rollers. He suffered multiple injuries including a fractured arm and collarbone; lacerations; head, arm, and shoulder contusions; and torn muscles and ligaments. Employee #1 was hospitalized and will need to undergo surgery. He did not turn off or lockout the machine prior to cleaning it.
