Employee killed in fall through skylight

Employee #1 and a coworker were on the roof of a paint manufacturing plant, preparing to clear an emergency exit door that had been blocked by a recent snow storm. The coworker had tried to push open the door from the inside, but the snow had prevented this. To access the blocked door, Employee #1 and the coworker had to cross approximately 100 ft of the roof, which had numerous smoke-vent-type skylights due to the flammable nature of the company's product. The coworker had just turned the corner around a roof structure when he heard a slight noise, turned, and saw that Employee #1 was no longer on the roof. He had fallen 14 ft through one of the skylights, and was killed.
