ELECTRIC SHOCK - CONTACT WITH OVERHEAD LINE THRU WRENCH

A POWER LINE WORKER FOR AN ELECTRIC UTILITY WAS INSTALLING A GUY FOR A 42-FOOT UTILITY POLE. HE WAS WORKING FROM A TWO-PERSON INSULATED AERIAL LIFT AND HAD THE GUY UNDER HIS LEFT FOOT. THE OTHER END OF THE GUY WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POLE. AS THE EMPLOYEE WAS WORKING, THE 12-INCH ADJUSTABLE WRENCH HE WAS USING CONTACTED A 7200-VOLT OVERHEAD POWER LINE. THE EMPLOYEE WAS ELECTROCUTED.
