EMPLOYEE KILLED BY A BACK HOE WHILE CHANGING WHEEL

Employee #1 was killed when a back hoe ran over him after he and another employee were attempting to change the right front back hoe wheel due to a flat. The 2,514 pound, 1975 International back hoe had a Serial Number 234009002201876. Apparently, the employee planned to start the back hoe to lift the front of the machine with the hydraulics when it suddenly began to roll. The machine had been left in low range second gear with the throttle completely open.
