Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was working for a state workplace investigation and compliance department and went to a worksite to inspect an elevator with a coworker. The employees met with a sub-contractor onsite who it turned out was infected with COVID-19. The employee contracted COVID-19 and subsequently died from his infection at 5:00 p.m. on August 21, 2021.
