Six employees taken to hospital after chemical explosion

There was a chemical explosion at Lee Laboratories, Inc., Petersburg Industrial Park. Employee #1, of Lee Laboratories, and Employee #2, of Parham Scale, were held in the hospital for observation and discharged at 8:15 a.m. on August 16, 1984. Employee #3, of Parham Scale, Employee #5, of the Petersburg Fire Department, and Employee #6, of Lee Laboratories, went to the emergency room for precautionary observation, but were not admitted. Employee #4, of Lee Laboratories, was treated and released.
