Employee with COVID-19 infection dies

An employee was resting at home after being released from the hospital. The housekeeping employee was working at an assisted living facility with known positive residents on December 30, 2020. During the employee screening, a COVID-19 test was taken and came back positive on December 31, 2020. After the employee's shift on December 30, 2020, the employee was hospitalized with pneumonia and COVID-19 respiratory complications. The employer reported the COVID-19 hospitalization and an inspection was opened on the report. After being released from the hospital, the employee subsequently died at 11:45 p.m. on February 4, 2021, at the home, due to respiratory complications associated with pneumonia and COVID-19.
