EMPLOYEE #1 WAS THE RIGGING SLINGER AND WAS CONTROLLING THE WORK OF THREE CHOKER SETTERS. THE CREW HAD JUST SET A TURN OF 5 LOGS AND HAD MOVED BACK TO A SAFE DISTANCE (ABOUT 80 FEET FROM THE TURN). EMPLOYEE #1 SIGNALED FOR THE TURN TO BE PULLED IN. AN EIGHTY FOOT MAPLE LOG PIVOTED ON ITS BUTT END, WHIPPED AROUND AND STRUCK EMPLOYEE #1 IN THE HEAD.
