At 12:00 a.m. on July 27, 2020, an employee was exposed to conditions of high am bient heat from the sun while performing hand labor such as topping/suckering an d hand harvesting tobacco. The employee was exposed above the American Conferen ce of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) Threshold Limit Value (TLV). T he TLV calculated for this day using the employee's metabolic work rate (415 wat ts) was 27.5 Celsius. During the working hours, the wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) was calculated to be between 27.5 to 31.4 Celsius. The employee is kille d as a result of excess heat exposure.
