An employee was working as an environmental services (EVS) employee who performe d janitorial services in the Operating and Emergency rooms. The employee's last day of work was May 8, 2020. A family member reported to the employer on May 1 3, 2020, that the employee had symptom onset as of May 8, 2020, and received a p ositive COVID-19 diagnosis. On May 14, 2020, the employer was notified by a fam ily member of the employee that the employee was admitted to the hospital and la ter died on May 29, 2020.
