Event: 07/27/2019
Employee trips, falls and injures head; later dies

on July 27, 2019, an employee tripped over a parking lot speed bump. He fell face first and injured his face and head. He was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with lacerations of his upper and lower lip and abrasions to his chin. The injuries were sutured and he was discharged on the same day. On July 28, 2019, he was reported acting confused and complaining of a headache. On July 29, 2019, he started vomiting and became somnolent. An EMS was called, and he was taken to the hospital. He had poor neurologic function and was transitioned to comfort care with planned terminal extubation. He died on July 29, 2019. The report listed the probable cause of death as complications of blunt force head trauma due to mechanical fall.
