Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:45 p.m. on April 18, 2019, an employee was instructed to work the Hock Cutter (removal of turkey head). The employee was performing the assigned task and misjudged his left-hand placement on the turkey's neck, upon engaging the Hock Cutter. The employee's left-hand thumb was caught between the Hock Cutter blades. The employee sustained a left-hand thumb fingertip amputation. The employee was hospitalized for this injury.
