Summary Nr: 107473.015Event: 07/19/2018Employee Is Struck And Run Over By Box Truck And Killed
At 9:44 a.m. on July 19, 2018, an employee arrived at work, parked, and exited the vehicle in the United States Postal Service parking lot at the rear of the building. The employee walked approximately 60 feet toward the building through the parking and loading dock area. An 11-ton delivery box truck that was backing up struck the employee with the right rear DOT/ICC bumper. The employee was knocked to the ground and subsequently run over by the right rear dual tires and the front right tire. The truck stopped at the dock. The employee sustained lacerations to legs, a crushed skull, and other injuries. The employee was killed.
