At 7:30 a.m. on March 27, 2018, an employee was performing maintenance on the slitter machine and had removed a chain that was blocking access to the machine. The employee reached into the slitter and caught his finger on one of the slitter's blade and amputated the tip from his left thumb. Hospitalization was not required.
