Summary Nr: 106620.015Event: 02/13/2018Employee'S Leg Is Injured When Struck By Press Hammer
At 7:50 pm. on February 13, 2018, an employee was using a 4000 lb Erie foundry hammer (model number: 3602) to form a part. During work, the hammer came down and hit the employee in the upper portion of his right leg. The incident investigation determined that the punch had flown to the side and through an opening in the guard, allowing it to strike the employee. The employee was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
