Employee's fingers amputated in mechanical power press

Employee #1, a temporary worker, was stacking parts being handed to him by a coworker who was operating a Verson mechanical power press. He had leaned over to adjust the radio and was trying to hold his balance when he accidentally placed his hand in the point of operation. The die descended, crushing and amputating his right index, middle, and ring fingers to the second joint.
