Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 171056674
Event: 07/28/1998
Employee's foot injured between post and forklift

Employee #1 was operating an electric forklift in a warehouse. He was on the south edge of an aisle that ran east to west and was negotiating a turn from east to north. While in the turn, he noticed that the north aisle was blocked by two parked forklifts. He tried to make an S-turn back to the east but there was not enough room. His foot was out of the step area on the forklift when it struck a post situated to protect a storage rack. Employee #1's foot became caught between forklift and the post, sustaining injuries that required hospitalized.
