Employee's fingers bruised when caught in machine roller

At 11:40 p.m., Employee #1, of Kimberly Clark ,was operating a diaper machine that was gluing tabs onto the padding when some of the glue got on one of the rollers that fed the padding into the machine. Without shutting down the machine, Employee #1 reached in with a pad to remove the glue from the feed roller. The fingers on his right hand became caught between the roller and the padding; they sustained bruises but were not broken. Employee #1 had not followed the company's procedure for cleaning the rollers, and his employer planned to take disciplinary action against him.
