Two employees sustain lacerations from knife blade

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on January 17, 1996, Employees #1 and #2, of Pacific Pure Aid Co., were changing a 12 foot knife blade on a double drum dryer. The blade caught on the built up, burned-on spinach that had accumulated on the drum and pulled Employee #1's hand into the roller. He sustained burns and lacerations to his right hand. Employee #2 attempted to rescue Employee #1 from the roller and he also received lacerations to his right hand. Both were transported to the hospital.
