Employee injured in fall from balcony

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 29, 1996, Employee #1, of A & H Installation Heating & Air Conditioning, Salem, OR, was on a lunch break eating a sandwich on a construction job site when he walked out onto a balcony that consisted of open joists and no guardrails. He lost his footing and fell approximately 10 feet, hitting his head on the concrete footings. Employee #1 was hospitalized for treatment of back and skull injuries.
