Employee killed when tanker truck crashes and explodes

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on April 15, 1998, Employee #1 had just finished loading approximately 9,100 gallons of gasoline into his double-tanker truck. He was traveling in a southeasterly direction on a road in Portland, OR, when a witness heading in the opposite direction saw him make a hard right and strike a parked container trailer. Employee #1's truck rolled over and slid into the loading dock of a nearby building. The tanker then caught on fire and exploded. Employee #1 was killed.
