Investigation Summary
At 6:00 a.m. on August 24, 2017, an employee was operating a Turner Twin Resaw and had just turned the machine on when the employee noticed that one of the band saw oilers was out of place. The employee raised the guard and reached in to adjust the oiler when his right hand's middle finger came into contact with the saw blade while it was running. The employee lacerated his finger and was hospitalized. With the resaw running, the employee raised the guard and reached into the point of operation to adjust the band saw oiler and his right hand middle finger came in contact with the band saw. The employee suffered a laceration to the right middle finger requiring hospitalization greater than 24 hours.
