Employee injured in fall from section of extension ladder

Employee #1, a maintenance worker on the graveyard shift, was dusting the grain augers as part of routine maintenance. He disassembled an extension ladder to obtain a shorter section. Because he was using the top section without the foot pads, the ladder slipped and fell. Employee #1 landed on the concrete floor, fracturing both wrists.
