Employee's Foot Crushed Between The Pad and Frame

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on July 13, 1998, Employee #1, of Nabors Drilling USA, Inc., fractured his foot while working on Rig Number 472 at Oxy, Elk Hills, in Tupman, California. The outrigger pad engaged the mat and spun it to the left and down. Employee #1's foot was crushed between the pad and the frame of the crane. Emergency personnel were called, and Employee #1 was transported to Memorial Hospital, which is located in Bakersfield. He was hospitalized for three days. Approximately six days later, Employee #1 was readmitted to Memorial Hospital for a day and then transferred to USC Medical Center for 14 days.
