Employee injured in backward fall through skylight

At 2:00 p.m. on February 11, 2008, Employee #1 was working for an HVAC contractor who had installed ductwork on the roof of a building in Los Angeles, CA about one month earlier. He was bent over and applying sealant to the ducts when he stood up, stepped backward, and fell through a skylight. As he dropped, he contacted a decorative plenum in the ceiling and then an 8 ft tall false wall, finally landing on someone's desk. He suffered a fractured wrist and a fractured rib, for which he was hospitalized.
