Employee Gets Fingers Amputated as His Hand Got Caught in Ma

At approximately 3:45pm, on March 2, 2008, Employee #1 of Interstate Brands Corporation sustained a total amputation of one finger and a partial amputation of another finger on his left hand while working in the bakery. Employee #1 was working in the "Pie Make- Up" area, where dough is formed into two halves and filling is added. Employee #1 was removing debris from the "clamshells" where dough is formed and got his hand caught between a clamshell and a compression roller. Employee #2 had to take apart the portion of the machine where Employee #1's fingers were caught in order for him to get his hand free. Employee #1 was transported to California Hospital.
