Employee Amputates Finger with Power Hand Saw

On October 6, 2008, an employee was assigned to cut trim siding off a piece of siding plywood. She had the plywood balanced between two saw horses. The employee had it clamped down on the saw horse. While the employee was sawing a strip of siding, the plywood started to fall off the saw horses. The employee went to grab the plywood while the saw blade was still rotating. The saw blade hit the employee's right hand amputating her three fingers. The employee was taken to the infirmary at USP-Chowchilla for treatment but was not hospitalized.
