Employee's Fingers Are Crushed While Loading Pipe Onto Truck

On December 21, 2006, Employee #1, working for an oil service and production company, was working in an oil field in Coalinga, CA. He was helping a coworker load a pipe onto the bailer rack of a truck. As they were loading the pipe, Employee #1 reached into the bailer rack to reposition the pipe, and his left hand fingers were crushed when the pipe shifted. He was transported to Coalinga Regional Hospital and later to UMC Hospital in Fresno, CA. He did not require hospitalization, but his fingers had to be amputated.
