Investigation Summary
On March 24, 2008, Employee #1 was preparing an area for a concrete pour in the yard of the Ahwahnee Middle School. He was installing expansion joint felt. He was using a battery powered skill saw to cut an 8 ft piece of felt. The saw blade became stuck. When he pulled the saw out, the blade started to rotate. Employee #1 was injured when the rotating blade struck his left index finger causing a partial amputation. He was treated for his injury at St. Agnes Hospital.
