Employee Amputates Finger in Gin Machine

On October 12, 2007, an employee was operating the gin machine. The lint cleaner part stopped up, so he turned off the machine to clean out the lint cleaner. He did not wait for the machine to stop moving. He put his hand in the lint cleaner and a paddle inside the machine caught his fingers and amputated it. The employee was taken to Fresno Community Hospital located in Fresno, CA for treatment. The employee was not hospitalized.
