Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

Employee #1, a painter, was working on a residential home remodeling project. He was painting windows on the second floor and used a Werner extension ladder to access the roof several times during the day. The ladder was leaning against the edge of the roof and was not tied or secured. At the time of the accident, he was stepping down onto the ladder from the roof, and he fell approximately 10 feet to the ground. He suffered a compression fracture to his back and a laceration on his head. He was hospitalized with his injuries.
