Employee Fractures Leg Falling From Fork Lift

At 10:30 a.m. on August 10, 2001, Employee #1 was dumping trash into a dumpster using a fork lift. While raising the trash with the forks to dump, the chain on the fork lift became caught. Employee #1 stood up on the driver's platform to release the chain. He lost his footing falling two feet to the ground. Employee #1 fractured his leg. He has returned to work after having his cast removed. His employer failed to ensure that the fork lift was in good working order prior to operation. Employee #1 went to a local hospital for treatment.
