Event: 10/11/2000
Employee injured when struck by a piece of wood

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on October 11, 2000, Employee #1 was straightening pieces of wood approximately 16 ft long and 40 inches wide on a pallet that was on the floor next to a ripsaw. He bent over to pick up a board near the bottom of the pallet when a forklift driver carrying a pallet of wood made a right turn to set his load down. The forklift tire pushed a piece of wood against the left ankle of Employee #1 pinning his left ankle between the wood and a steel post. He suffered a deep laceration and an open fracture of the left ankle and was hospitalized.
