Employee receives injuries after falling off ladder

On August 19, 2003, Employee #1 was standing on the 6-ft metal ladder taking measurements of a wall corner that formed part of a television studio set. He leaned forward to obtain a measurement when his foot either slipped off a rung or missed the rung all together, and fell backwards onto an adjacent sawhorse. His impact with the sawhorse caused him to sustain a compression fracture in the lower back. Emergency medical personnel were summoned and took him to the hospital. At the hospital, he received treatment for the fractures in the lumbar region of the vertebral column. He was hospitalized following the treatment for postoperative care.
