Employee Is Burned by Falling Bottle

On January 25, 2003, Employee #1, a machine operator, was working an automated line that removed hot bottles from molds and placed them on a conveyor belt that led to an annealing machine. One bottle had fallen over during the removal of a few defects, causing his right pant leg to briefly catch fire and causing burns to his lower right leg. The burns were classified as second degree, and no hospitalization was involved. Two weeks later, the injury was upgraded to third degree, and Employee #1 was hospitalized for skin grafts.
