Employee Is Injured in Fall on Tile Floor

At approximately 11:00 a.m. April 6, 2011, a full-time, permanent employee was performing her normally assigned duties as an adult education clerk for her employer. She was standing and working around her desk and lost her balance falling, to the tile floor. The employee stated that she was wearing flat rubber soled shoes and was not sure why she lost her balance and fell. Her coworkers called emergency services, and she was transported to Cedars Sinai hospital. She was diagnosed with a severe laceration to her forehead, which required 12 to 15 stitches, and a fractured left knee cap.
