Investigation Summary
On July 8, 2003, Employee #1, of Bee Construction, was helping the company owner repair and replace a section of the roof on a carport at a commercial site in Los Angeles, CA. He had just cut a piece of plywood, which was supported by the roof joists, when he fell 9 ft to the ground. Employee #1 fractured his left leg and was hospitalized for four weeks. The last piece of plywood he cut was shorter than the other pieces and not as well supported, allowing him to fall.
