Employee's fingers amputated in wood shaper

At 1:00 p.m. on March 6, 1997, Employee #1 had set up a single-spindle shaper woodworking machine, normally used for running straight pieces of wood. He was running a curved piece of wood on it when the shaper grabbed the wood. Employee #1's left hand was pulled into the machine's knives, amputating four of his fingers.
