Employee's finger amputated while working with saw

On June 10, 2002, an employee of Kenwood Manufacturing Inc. was cutting wood pieces used in assembling furniture, using a DeWalt model DW705 miter saw. He was holding the short end of the stick being cut with his left hand, and as he cut the wood, the saw contacted his finger as well as the wood. His left index finger tip was amputated. He was not hospitalized.
