Employee Loses Fingers While Cleaning Printing Press Machine

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 26, 2001, Employee #1, a 37-year-old printing press operator employed by Coast Paper Box Company, lost his left ring finger while cleaning a Royal Zenith "Planeta" printing press. His left hand was caught in the nip point created by the moving water chrome and the water form rollers. Employee #1 was transported by paramedics to the Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was treated and released.
