Employee Falls from Elevation

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on July 21, 2001, Employee #1 was lowering a welding lead over a guardrail from a height of 14 ft 9 in. to the concrete floor when he stepped through the caution tape across an opening where the guardrail had been removed. Employee #1's supervisor broke his fall but his right foot hit the floor, resulting in a compound fracture to his right lower leg. Employee #1 was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital.
