Employee injured when finger amputated by roller of dryer

At 7:20 a.m. on March 27, 2001, a serious injury occurred at Paradise Textile Corporation in their finish department. At the time of accident, Employee #1 was cleaning a continuous fabric drying machine, a Sun Super Tenter Frame, Machine Number 2, Serial Number 2702, 1AST-8TGT, while the machine was in its normal operation. While cleaning the machine, Employee #1 noticed a piece of lint on the running roll. The running rolls pulled his right hand into the machine and smashed his right middle, ring and pinkie fingers. Right after the accident, Employee #1 was taken to Chino Hills Medical center by his supervisor and later on he was taken to Anaheim Orthopedic Hospital. Surgery was performed on Employee #1's hand on March 28, 2001, at San Antonio Community Hospital. The tip of his right ring finger was amputated.
