Employee injured in extricating foot from under forklift

On September 23, 1994, Employee #1, of the San Bernardino, CA, Refuse Department, was struck by a forklift truck that ran over his foot. When he tried to pull his foot out from underneath the wheel of the forklift, he fractured his leg. Employee #1's foot was not injured because he was wearing steel-toed shoes.
