Employee's finger amputated by cut-off saw

Employee #1, a laborer, was using a cutoff saw to miter a small strip of wood for the border of a bulletin board when the strip became jammed in the saw. Employee #1 placed his left hand under the guard to clear the jam when his middle finger contacted the blade and was amputated at the second knuckle. He was hospitalized.
