Employee fractures ankles in jump from runaway forklift

Employee #1, age 19, was driving a forklift downhill. He tried to shift gears but the machine lost power and would not shift. The power-assisted brakes and steering were unresponsive and Employee #1 lost control of the vehicle. He jumped off and landed on his feet, fracturing both ankles.
