Employee's finger amputated when struck by backhoe bucket

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on August 18, 1999, Employee #1, of Teichert and Son Construction, was steadying a riser in place that was being supported on a backhoe bucket. The bucket dumped the riser where Employee #1 was holding it, amputating his left little finger at the second knuckle.
