Employee injured when pinned between forklift mast and frame

On August 7, 1999, Employee #1 was attempting to adjust load on the forklift he was operating. He leaned around the mast, placed his left foot on the left wheel well and his right foot on the dashboard, and grabbed the load. He was pulling down on it when his right foot touched the mast tilt control. The mast tilted back, pinning Employee #1 against the frame of the forklift. He was hospitalized for 11 days for a colostomy and a colostomy reversal.
